Family and the Fourth
Ahhhh...another fourth has past. The flowers were blooming, birds singing, and mosquitoes biting. Then there is the family. Twelve children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren packed into a 3 bedroom 1 bath house with no central air. It was the best of times, it was the worst of time, it was the hottest of times. I love my family but I was resta go. We had the traditional 4th lunch fair including the traditional homemade ice cream. Since my grandmother had her stroke it has been missing from tradition for a couple years, but hooray for us we found the elusive recipe and I was given the honor making the much coveted dessert. I came, I saw, I conquered. The ice cream was gone soon after it was through freezing. I find that as the greatest complement in my family. We are not the typical family, but we are a close nit family and I will miss them all when I move.
